Just finished up a track entitled "Pressed Shadows", a title inspired by a book I picked up in Montreal almost ten years ago called "Scream Against the Sky / Japanese Art After 1945".

Over the last year or so, I've supplied music to a Toronto artist named Michael Toke for use in various projects. I first saw one of his works hanging in a friend's apartment in 2001, and was blown away by both the scale and detail of his paintings. To me there were parallels to my interest in science, found objects, and repetition. But more than that, his art really moves me with some kind of nostalgia that I can't explain. It's as if you had known the images all your life, like some half remembered dream.

Michael has expanded his talents into not only sculpture, but film and video installations as well. Several of the shorts are now available for viewing at his site. Go check it out at:
